A most beautiful once off shot.

What an amazing photograph taken of a delicate spider web after the due had set on it.
This takes my two favorite things in the world and puts them together, nature and art. The jewel effect the droplets give to the spider web creates a delicate elegance to something most people find “gross”. This photograph creates a whole new way in which people view spider webs.
What a beautiful, intricate design and caught on camera.
The photograph itself is also truly amazing; I love the unfocused edges as they create a boarder effect.

Claudette Schreuders

Claudette Schreuders is an artist that I have found most inspiring for years now. She creates carved and painted wooden sculptures which deal with everyday problems.
Her sculptures are fun and playful with beautifully bright colours, yet they send a very serious message across to the audience.
She works with such a huge range of problems, those from the past such as apartheid to the most personal, private problems of her own that she will make universal.
Her art work is so full of love and honesty as well as being full of many different interpretations.
I would say that my favorite part of her art work would be the small details and the meanings behind her art. It is never possible to look at her work only once and see everything there is to see, you have to keep coming back to see the small details and hidden meanings.

Artists statement

As a person I find art and sculpture a way of life, everything around me is a form of inspiration. I find myself drawn to nature, this is where I find most of my inspiration. I would like to end up making small sculptures into jewellery, such as small animals on rings or as pendants. Using nature as an inspiration I can come up with unique designs that will hopefully one day inspire others. I am excited to begin making my own designs into jewellery pieces.
